Each unit is designed to allow for a ground-level or rooftop application, and the only connections needed for installation are the supply and return ducts, the line and low-voltage wiring, and drain connection.
A heat pump is on average 2-3 times more efficient than an electric furnace, electric baseboards, or an electric heater coil that can be installed in self-contained AC-only units. So if you are currently using electric heat and not using a heat pump, they can greatly reduce your heating bills. Heater coils are still typically installed in self-contained heat pumps as an auxiliary heating option and to assist in defrost cycles.
