What has happened to customer service?

Have you noticed in this day & time that most businesses focus on that bottom dollar, instead of the person that is going to provide that bottom dollar? Has greed really taken the lead in business?

Here are just a few customer service complaints that was found in a Yahoo forum:

“I go to a fast food restaurant and I order my food without onions. 9 times out of 10 my order is wrong. I call a utility company or credit card company to ask a question about or to pay my bill and I always get a computer first then i have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to finally get connected to a rude snot of a person who I can’t understand because their English is so bad or they talk so fast, and they don’t know how to help me. In this age of tec. customer service should be so easy and company’s should know that they aren’t the only fish in the ocean but they act like you owe them something and they aren’t obligated to provide service for their product. Am I just being overly sensitive or do others get this same kind of treatment?”

” I feel like there is no more customer service. No one seems to want to work anymore and that is why they don’t care how they do their jobs. “Now a day there’s a teen who apparently can’t take pride in anything except in the new piercing that looks infected now. Every now and then you’ll find that one waiter/waitress who is generally nice and it shows. These are unfortunately far and few between and are the exception to the norm.
Somewhere along this journey the customer service pendulum has swung the other way and it’s not getting any better anytime soon.”

“I think it died somewhere along the way. Now it seems it’s the opposite. Whenever you shop everybody acts as if they’re doing you a favor if they serve you. That’s if you’re actually lucky and find somebody to help you like in big stores. And when you do they’re absolutely uninformed and useless. Whenever I get good service I’m usually pleasantly surprised and shocked lol. Ain’t that sad.”

Businesses have increasingly paid more attention to making that money & sadly it’s costing them. It’s costing relationships, reputation, community advertising, & ultimately most businesses have to end up closing their doors. It is indeed a DYING art. What has happened? Is the money really that important?

There is hope, there are a few businesses that pride themselves in customer service. Those that focus on the right stuff, that pays attention to detail, knowing that their customers are the most important. One of those is Stovers Liquidation. Our customers are treated like family..because they ARE family & families take care of each other. Lack of customer service may be a dying art, but here at Stovers Liquidation; it is very much alive.
